This is a hands-on position in a seven-person office with responsibility for ongoing management support for the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists (ICHP) services, including administration, education, membership, financial, legislative, editorial, as well as meeting and strategic planning.

ICHP seeks a licensed IL pharmacist (or eligible to become licensed in IL) with management, education administration, financial and project management experience, plus previous work / volunteer experience within health-system pharmacy and / or professional membership associations, and experience with higher education, in particular accreditation processes and faculty communications, for continuing pharmacy education. An interested candidate should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills that will maintain and build upon ICHP’s current strengths. Please review the detailed description and requirements carefully - PDF link below.

 

This position supports and assists the Executive Vice President, Board of Directors, Divisions, Committees, Subcommittees, Networks, Affiliates, and ICHP staff, on all ICHP initiatives and includes particular focus and oversight of continuing pharmacy education accreditation programs and faculty guidance, policies and procedures; and providing oversight and editorial support for publication of the KeePosted™ News Journal and the Pharmacy Tech Topics™ education modules.

 

The Organization

ICHP is a statewide professional organization whose members include pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students, and other pharmacy professionals who serve as members of healthcare teams within or have an interest in Illinois' hospitals and health-systems. ICHP was formed in 1963, and incorporated as a 501 c (6) not for profit with a for-profit subsidiary, the ICHP Building Co. LLC. ICHP’s mission, “Advancing Excellence in Pharmacy”, is accomplished through a variety of products and services to assist our members and the pharmacy profession in providing safe and effective care for their patients. ICHP holds two annual membership conferences (fall and spring) with education and networking opportunities and industry participation; retains Illinois licensed lobbyists and participates in advocacy efforts including a state-wide pharmacy legislative day collaboration. ICHP is a founding member of the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), and an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education since 1995. The Council develops and implements various continuing education programs, including a series of educational modules for pharmacy technicians, Pharmacy Tech Topics™, published quarterly by ICHP since 1996.
