Opioid Education Series

The Cook County Department of Public Health (ICCDP) requested proposals for educational programming in health-system and community pharmacy to address the national opioid crisis on the state level.  This initiative was funded through a federal grant.  The Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists (ICHP) Educational Affairs Division created an Opioid Task Force to submit a proposal and was awarded the grant.  The Task Force created the Opioid Crisis Education Series encompassing two grant areas: CDC Opioid Data to Action (live educational programming) and the PMPNow Initiative (home study programming). This series addresses four specific education goals:

1. PMPnow
2. Stigma Reduction
3. CDC Safe Prescribing Guidelines
4. Naloxone Use

Two programs from this series are still available for free credit for ONLY ICHP member pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Grant funds for non-member access have been dispersed as of September 1, 2022.

However, the educational information from all the programs listed below is available for viewing and reading by members and non-members of ICHP. Please see the links below.

In order to access the programs and claim CPE credit for those programs still available, you will need to create a free account on CESally.com.
