Program Description Memorial's PGY1 residency program is ASHP accredited and accepting two positions to begin July 2024. This 12-month, postgraduate training experience is designed to expose residents to a wide variety of clinical experiences. Examples of clinical services performed during residency include, but are not limited to, optimization of medication therapy, patient care rounding, pharmacokinetic and renal dosing, therapeutic drug monitoring, drug information, anticoagulation dosing, and drug interaction monitoring.

Program Description ASHP-accredited PGY2 Ambulatory Care pharmacy residency program with a primary practice site at Advocate Medical Group Southeast Center in Chicago, IL. Program graduates will gain experience providing patient-centered care through a comprehensive collaborative practice agreement for patients with chronic diseases, including but not limited to, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, asthma, and COPD. Program Description Northwestern Medicine Specialty Pharmacy is dedicated to providing the most advanced health care to communities and patients by serving 11 hospitals and over 200 outpatient locations in the Northwestern Medicine system. The residency will provide a supportive and collaborative learning environment, fostering growth in clinical skills, research, and leadership.

The program is 12 months in duration and orientation begins in mid-June. The residency is based at the Northwestern Medicine Specialty Pharmacy (NMSP) of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Downtown Chicago which fills over 65,000 scripts annually. NMSP holds both URAC and ACHC accreditation.

Program Description We are offering a yearlong postgraduate year 2 (PGY2) ASHP-accredited, specialized residency in Oncology Pharmacy to continue a tradition that has been offered since 2006. Each faculty member is responsible for direct patient care in each of their areas of expertise, practicing in innovative practice sites. Additionally, each faculty member is active in the medical center, quality improvement initiatives, departmental committees and direct patient care responsibilities. The goal of this residency is to afford the opportunity to develop expert knowledge and skills in the area of oncology pharmacotherapy through clinical service, education, and scholarly activities.

Program Description The oldest PGY2 in Emergency Medicine is excited to speak to candidates interested in practicing at the top of their license.
The focus of training is in the Emergency Department (ED) where residents are expected to develop the skills to care for patients with a variety of diseases and disorders and acuity levels. This program offers multiple ED settings, and a variety of elective training sites to meet the individual resident needs. The faculty serves as one of the largest clinical groups in the medical center to support the resident through the year.

Program Description The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Specialty Pharmacy is a dynamic program bringing together experiences within the UI Health Specialty Pharmacy clinical care center, specialty outpatient clinics, and the dually accredited health system specialty pharmacy. The goal of this program is to produce a specialty pharmacy practitioner with advanced knowledge of the specialty pharmacy practice model and specialty disease state management. Upon completion of this program, graduates are well-positioned to work in any specialty pharmacy setting or may pursue a PGY2 or fellowship for further specialized training.

Program Description The pharmacy practice residency program provides training in overall delivery of healthcare with a major emphasis placed on drug-related issues and practices. During this one-year program, the resident effectively makes the transition from student to independent practitioner under guidance from the clinical faculty. Program Description The Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy is a 12-month, structured, ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency. The goal of this residency is to develop expert knowledge and skills in the provision of pharmacotherapy to ambulatory care patients by combining clinical service with educational and scholarly activities. During the program, the resident will spend about 60 -70% of the time in professional clinical skill development, 10% in educational activities, 15% in scholarly/research activities and 5% in staffing activities.

Program Description The UI College of Pharmacy boasts the nation's longest continually-accredited PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy Residency Program.

Community Pharmacy Residents spend 2/3 of their time provide patient care services in the community pharmacy or other ambulatory care settings.

Residents participate in the Pharmacy Educator Preparation Program for Residents (PEPPR) to learn teaching philosophy and techniques and can apply those skills in educating Doctor of Pharmacy students, other health care providers, and patients.

Residents complete a practice-based research project with the guidance of UI College of Pharmacy Health Service Research Faculty and participate in a peer review writing group with other community residents.

The PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program at UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital allows the resident to gain hands-on patient care experience and build their clinical skills by being part of a multidisciplinary team. The emergency medicine pharmacists provide prospective medication order review, culture review with intervention, and direct patient care. Direct patient care includes recommending and preparing medications during cardiac resuscitations, procedural sedations, intubations, and other medical emergencies. Direct patient care also includes working up toxicology cases, providing patient and family education, and consulting on complex patients with providers.
