Manager, Pharmacy
Shared Position in DeKalb & Sandwich, Illinois
Based at Kishwaukee Hospital & Valley West Hospital

Responsibilities Creating an environment of partnership, collaboration, seamless quality, and service enhancement across teams, departments, and divisions, the professional we select for this vital role will ensure that the pharmacy is properly staffed and oversee the daily operations. This natural leader will set clear expectations for continuous quality and service improvement, and use internal and external data and best practices to establish targets, timelines, and metrics for improvement projects. Additional responsibilities will include:
• Making effective hiring decisions and completing 90-day orientation for new employees.
• Identifying each staff member's individual skills and interests, providing constructive feedback, and addressing performance gaps with clear action plans and timelines.
• Supporting learning and skill development for self and staff, including coaching and mentoring; and assigning stretch goals, cross-training, and other opportunities for career development.
• Staying informed of new and current and emerging issues and trends for areas of accountability.
• Communicating and educating staff on requirements, changes, advances, opportunities, directions and projections for the future.
• Identifying opportunities for business growth and development and expansion of current services.
• Encouraging staff/team accountability through involvement in budget preparation, identification of ideas for increasing efficiency/cost savings, and growth of the business and existing services.
• Supporting and empowering staff in piloting new ideas and solutions.
• Facilitating change readiness and agility among staff and teams.
• Using timely, effective communication methods to update staff on departmental and organizational priorities and progress.

Requirements Required Credentials:
• Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Five or more years of hospital experience.
• Licensure as a PHARMD.

Preferred Credentials:
