Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this knowledge-based continuing pharmacy education activity, pharmacist participants should be able to:

1. Identify strategies for prevention of peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheter-related infections.
2. Propose appropriate treatment plans for patients with PD catheter-related infections.
3. Discuss treatment options for patients with PD-associated peritonitis.
4. Recognize updates to previous recommendations for treating PD catheter-related infections and peritonitis.

At the conclusion of this knowledge-based continuing pharmacy education activity, pharmacy technician participants should be able to:

1. Define types of PD-associated peritonitis and PD catheter-related infections.
2. Recognize common antibiotics used in treatment of PD-associated infections.

      Attendees must complete a program evaluation and CPE submission online at www.CESally.com. After successful CPE submission to CPE Monitor, attendees may print their statements of continuing pharmacy education credit at NABP.pharmacy.

      Target Audience: This knowledge-based activity was developed for Health-System Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians

      PTCB requires CPhTs to submit 20 hours of pharmacy technician-specific (‘T-specific’) continuing pharmacy education (CPE) to qualify for recertification. Please advise all pharmacy technicians at your site of this change. As an ACPE accredited provider, ICHP will continue to include Technician specific programming in most if not all of our CPE programming.  For PTCB recertification, CPhTs may use up to 5 hours of P-specific credit hours and CPhT-Adv up to 10 hours of P-specific credit hours.
