At the conclusion of this knowledge-based continuing pharmacy education activity, pharmacist participants should be able to:
1. Describe the mechanism of action of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor.
2. Identify if a patient with heart failure is a candidate for a SGLT2 inhibitor when given a case presentation.
3. Select the correct medication and dose of SGLT2 inhibitor when given a case presentation.
4. Review recently published trials to understand the benefit of SGLT2 inhibitors in heart failure patients.
