Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Workshop

Mental Health First Aid is a training course that teaches participants how to recognize, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges, including crisis situations.

Similar to how CPR helps in a medical emergency, Mental Health First Aid provides practical skills and an action plan for supporting someone who may be struggling and connecting them with appropriate help.

This training covers:

Learn to respond with the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE):

Assess for risk of suicide or harm.
Listen without judgement.
Give reassurance and information.
Encourage appropriate, professional help.
Encourage self-help and other support strategies.

Please note, this program is NOT ACPE accredited. After completing the pre-course work (approximately 2 hours) and the full day workshop, participants will earn a MHFA certification valid for 3 years.
