Description The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy seeks a Clinical Faculty (Open Rank) in the Experiential Education curriculum. Our PharmD and research programs are ranked within the top 10 colleges of pharmacy in the country.

We seek a unique individual who is willing to join the Experiential Education Team and play an integral part in the success of the experiential and patient care skills laboratory education of our Chicago and Rockford campus pharmacy students. The position is available immediately.

Responsibilities The Experiential Education Office within the Department of Pharmacy Practice has the major responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the experiential and patient care skills laboratory curriculum. The responsibilities of the Clinical Faculty include the coordination and oversight of a minimum of two core experiential skills lab courses in the PharmD curriculum and other courses as assigned, and to assist the Director of APPE and the Director of IPPE in projects related to experiential education. The incumbent will engage in scholarly activities including writing, research and presentations, and participation in departmental outreach. In addition to the academic responsibility, it is expected that the faculty member will also have clinical responsibilities.

Academic responsibilities include the provision of didactic lectures at various Health Science Colleges, experiential and patient care skills laboratory teaching/training of Doctor of Pharmacy students, and precepting of PGY1 and PGY2 residents. Teaching and scholarly activities, including presentations and publications, are an expectation as well.

Requirements Requirements include:
• Graduate of an ACPE accredited PharmD program
• Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the State of Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation or eligible for such licensure by start date
• Completed minimum of an ASHP PGY1 residency or fellowship or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy experience required
• Knowledge of ACPE accreditation requirements, HIPAA policies and procedures, Illinois Board of Pharmacy requirements
• Previous teaching experience is preferred
• Excellent organizational and communication skills are required
