Description The Oncology Clinical Pharmacist will serve as the primary clinical pharmacist overseeing all inpatient oncology and outpatient infusion unit services. They will be responsible for educating nursing staff, physicians and patients along with insuring regulatory compliance as related to oncology and infusion unit services. The Oncology Clinical Pharmacist will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement a medication plan that meets the overall goals of patient care established by the health care team. We’re looking for an individual who will reinforce a culture of patient and staff safety along with the capability to streamline efficiency and implement processes to continuously improve the delivery of chemotherapy and pharmaceutical care. Superior patient care is always our top priority. The candidate must have an oncology background.
Responsibilities
Requirements • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy. • B.S. degree with at least 5 years hospital based oncology patient care experience may be considered in lieu of a Pharm.D. Degree. • Current pharmacist license in the State of Illinois, or ability to obtain. • PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and a PGY2 Pharmacy Oncology Residency is preferred. • Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) is preferred. • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for compounding of chemotherapeutic/hazardous agents • Demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills • Demonstrate commitment to continuous development in pharmacy practice
