Registration:

Register below. This program is free to ICHP members. You must register online in advance to attend this program. The cost for non-members to attend is $20. You may attend once as a non-member for free but thereafter must join ICHP as a member. However, those who do not attend and do not cancel within 48 hours of the program will be charged $20.00 to cover expenses. Members who attend the meeting will not be charged the fee. Please bring a copy of your registration verification form with you to the meeting. There is limited seating, so register early.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this knowledge-based continuing pharmacy education activity, pharmacist participants should be able to:

1. Define the difference between donation after cardiovascular death (DCD) and donation after neurological death.
2. Discuss differences in optimal pharmacotherapy management of potential donors after cardiovascular death compared to donors after neurological death.
3. Select appropriate dosing for common medications used in the management of potential organ donors.
4. Review literature related to the pharmacological management of potential organ donors.

At the conclusion of this knowledge-based continuing pharmacy education activity, pharmacy technician participants should be able to:

1. Recognize the difference between cardiovascular death and neurological death.
2. Identify medications that can be used in the management of potential organ donors.
3. Recognize appropriate doses of common medications used in the management of potential organ donors.
4. Explain the significance of timeliness of medications in the management of potential organ donors.

As an ACPE accredited provider, ICHP will continue to include Technician specific programming in most if not all of our CPE programming.
